Terms of Service

Startovar is a marketplace platform. We provide the technology that lets independent store owners open a storefront, list products, and reach buyers across a connected network of stores. We are not the seller of the products listed on the marketplace. Each store is owned and operated by an independent business or person, who is responsible for the products they list and sell.

When you buy a product, your purchase contract for that product is with the store that sells it, not with Startovar. Startovar provides the platform and facilitates the payment.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy or sell on Startovar.

Store owners join by applying. We review every application by hand and may approve or decline at our discretion to keep the marketplace high quality.

You are responsible for keeping your account details and login secure, and for all activity that happens under your account.

If we approve your store, you may list products and sell them through the marketplace. You are responsible for your listings, including accurate titles, descriptions, prices, and images, and for the legality of what you sell.

You are responsible for delivering what you sell. For a digital product, this means providing a working download link or clear access instructions. For a physical product, this means shipping the order to the buyer.

You are responsible for your own taxes and for meeting the laws that apply to your business and your customers.

Startovar charges a flat platform fee of 10% on each sale. You keep the remaining 90%. Payouts are handled through Stripe and sent to your connected account.

Stores on Startovar can promote and list products from other stores. When one store sells a product supplied by another store, the supplying store still fulfills the order, and the reselling store earns an agreed commission. Startovar still keeps its flat platform fee. This lets stores grow by sending each other buyers.

When you buy a product, you enter a contract with the store that sells it. The store is responsible for delivering the product and for honoring its description. Prices are set by the store and shown at checkout before you pay.

For a digital product, your delivery is shown after payment and may also be made available to you by the store. Please save any download link somewhere safe. For a physical product, the store ships to the address you provide at checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying on Startovar, you also agree to the terms of Stripe. Startovar does not store your full card details.

Startovar collects the payment and its platform fee, and the remainder is paid to the store through Stripe.

You agree not to use Startovar to list, sell, or buy anything illegal, counterfeit, stolen, or that infringes the rights of others, and not to use the platform for fraud, abuse, or to harm the service or other users.

We may remove any listing, and suspend or close any account, that breaks these terms or puts buyers, stores, or the platform at risk.

Store owners keep ownership of the content they upload, such as their store name, descriptions, and images. By uploading content, you grant Startovar a license to host, display, and promote that content across the marketplace and in related promotion, so that we can run and grow the network.

Startovar and its branding, design, and software remain the property of Startovar.

We work to keep Startovar running well, but we provide the platform on an as is and as available basis. We do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted or free of errors.

Because products are listed and sold by independent stores, Startovar does not warrant the accuracy of listings or the quality of products. Those are the responsibility of the store that sells them.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Startovar is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the marketplace, or from a transaction between a buyer and a store. Our role is to provide the platform that connects buyers and stores.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

You may stop using Startovar at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we need to protect buyers, stores, or the platform.

We may update these terms as Startovar grows. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Startovar after a change, you accept the updated terms.

We will confirm the governing law and the competent courts for these terms once the operating entity for Startovar is finalized, and we will update this section then. Until that point, any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live continue to protect you.
